We spent a few days before the Christmas at my brother’s house with his family, creating all kinds of holiday chaos, of the sweetest kind.
We arrived back in Maine on the Solstice in time for a new local tradition of an outdoor candle-lit gathering of cider, readings, and tree decorating at a local trail head. The following evening we celebrated a friend’s solstice birthday with pot-luck, solstice spiral and campfire, followed by a holiday concert.
We continued the festivities with perhaps more evenings in a row of endless appetizers, drinks, and cookies than anyone should ever enjoy in one week.
Christmas day was sweet and slow. We shared gifts over coffee, toast, and cereal (one of the kids’ most anticipated presents). We played new board games, went for a run, colored with new art supplies, and finished the evening by delivering our annual Fowler Family Holiday Lights Award, and more apps, egg nog, and gifts with Mimi and the Maine cousins. A very merry Chrismas. Hope yours has been lovely as well.
I love your photos so much! So glad we got to spend part of the week with you all!
